Liberator Scoop
When the Scoop is rocking, don’t come knocking! The Scoop is perfect for fans of motion—it moves when you move, and adds a little rock-n-roll action to your sex play. Flip for superior spinal support and use in conjunction with other Liberator® shapes (like the Wedge!) for a variety of position options. The Scoop is made of soft but stable foam, encased in water-resistant nylon. Also included are a washable velour cover and an information booklet with suggestions for positions and uses with other Liberator shapes. 24” wide, 12” tall, 40” long.
Arc de Triomphe | Bend-Over Boyfriend | Keep on Rockin' |
At over 3 feet long by 2 feet wide, the Scoop is much more than a little "sex pillow." When the package arrived at my dungeon, I was surprised to see just how large it was (make sure you have the closet space for this one). My first impulse with this new toy was decorative: where was I going to put this? On the bed? On the floor by my throne as a cushion for worship? On top of the table or cage? I decided to try them all! Thankfully, despite it size, the Scoop is easily portable, and I had no problems moving it around.
I must admit that I broke in my Liberator Scoop in a way that I did not find mentioned on the company's website. I first laid it flat side down on top of a cage, and then I leaned a submissive over the gentle arc of the other side... just the right height for a beating! After quite a workout for both of us, the verdict was in: the Scoop had provided pleasant cushioning, and more than adequate back support. I must say I was pleased: We do want our bottoms to comfortable while we inflict pleasure on them. Nothing ruins the mood like back problems.
Continuing to put the Scoop through its paces, I placed it on the bed flat side down, and once again I bent my submissive over the curved top. I was eager to give my sub (and the curve) some thorough testing, so it was time for a bit of strap-on play. I found that the Scoop's arch nicely presented the eager derriere before me. It was also long enough that by having my sub slide further forward or back, I could achieve some nice variation in height and angle. I then flipped my playtoy over onto its back (the sub, not the Scoop) and experimented further with different angles. By positioning my pet as far back on the arc as possible, I was able to get a nice rush of blood to their head, much like leaning someone back over the edge of the bed, but with more support. By pulling them back towards my end of the arc, I was afforded a nice position for deep penetration.
Those who know my predilections will not be surprised to hear that I soon found myself wanting to restrain my bottom and bind them to the Scoop. Alas, the Scoop does not afford such possibilities, though Liberator does sell a Black Label Scoop, which comes with multiple attachment points for bondage. But I was disappointed to see that their system uses plastic snap-buckles compatible with the cuffs they sell. Why not d-rings that could be used with any cuffs? My other concern was the microfiber cover. It is pleasant on the skin, but if you like your sex messy (and who doesn't?), it will require frequent cleaning. Thankfully the cover can be removed and machine washed, but it would be nice to have the option of a cover in PVC or something similar that could be wiped down with ease.
I do try to be thorough in my reviewing, so eventually I had to flip the Scoop over onto its curved side and see what I could make of it. Thus configured, the scoop is meant to allow for various rocking and see-sawing motions. I must admit I approached it somewhat warily, not quite sure how to mount it properly. Those who are more acrobatic in their fucking will undoubtedly have more success with the opportunities it offers. I found myself wanting to flip it back over for the stability that I personally prefer for a good fucking. The Scoop did provide that stability, and it put a new spin on some old positions.
I think the Scoop is definitely a fun, versatile, and attractive piece that I would recommend to most people. As far as the bondage aficionados however, I say wait until they create a better cover or be prepared to make up for it yourself!

I've been curious about Liberator "Bedroom Adventure Furniture" for a long time. Does the average couple—or the average slut like myself—really need a set of dedicated foam furnishings to disport themselves upon? Are they really any different than owning two extra pillows? They look kind of heavy to be hauling around in the heat of the moment. And, um, don't they get kind of...crusty? Sticky? Yucky?
Once I received a Liberator Scoop for testing purposes, all my questions were answered.
First, these things are made of some amazing substance. They are lighter than they look, and yet they provide extraordinarily firm support. They hold up under the weight of two people, giving exactly the right amount of yield without the squish. And the microfiber covering is supersoft and nice to the touch. It zips right off for washing—underneath is a liner that won't absorb lube or fluids, so you can wipe off anything that soaks through the cover. So... great design on a practical level.
But are these things really useful for fucking? And who the hell engineers and road-tests them? My partner and I were eager to find out.
The Scoop can be used two basic ways: flat side down or curved side down. While I thought the curved-side-down/rocking-horse concept was a fascinating idea, I simply don't have the coordination or natural rhythm for such an endeavor. Just balancing on the thing was tricky for me, being as I am a total stranger to yoga, gym equipment, pilates, or, indeed, any form of exercise whatsoever other than walking around fetish wear stores and fucking. So we used the Scoop flat-side down, and discovered that it makes a great platform to display your lover upon and a terrific forum to access all their juicy bits.
Our first trial involved using the Scoop for presenting the boy's bottom for flogging. Lying face-down on the Scoop, his ass was perfectly positioned for beating. I did wish we were testing the Liberator Black Label shapes, which come with built-in bondage attachment points but... The curve of the Scoop meant that it was easy to reach between his legs and access his cock, much easier than if he were lying flat, and when I was done with the beating, it was easy to flip him over and lay him on his back over the foam shape, with his cock at the apex of the curve and his head lolling back in a relaxed and helpless manner while I forced him to come with the Hitachi Magic Wand. The texture of the microfiber cover is remarkably non-slippery, which is helpful!
We also tested the Scoop for strap-on fucking, and were very pleased with the results. I laid my young lover face-down on the Scoop, cuffed his hands together, and secured his legs apart with shackles and a spreader bar. The Scoop was the ideal shape to support his torso; his neck was angled comfortably, and his butt was raised up at just the right height for me to kneel between his thighs and fuck him with my strap-on. Because his face wasn't mashed into a pillow, I could watch his expressions in the floor-to-ceiling mirror. I really like the amount of support the Liberator foam material gives, solid but forgiving. The positioning was excellent, and we were both very pleased!
I tend to think I'll use the Scoop more as a pedestal for a session focusing on one partner, rather than yanking it into the bed during a bout of fucking when we want to change positions on the fly. It's a little unwieldy despite the lightness of the material, and takes up a lot of room in the bed. I'm now curious about the smaller Liberator shapes like the Wedge, as those seem more practical for adding to a situation already in play so to speak.
Liberator also makes Conversion Kits so you can put a cover on your Scoop that has the built-in bondage attachment points; though it's rather expensive at around a $100 bucks, I'm tempted to get one...

Suzanne
The Scoop is now the third product by Liberator that I have tried. I have been faithfully using the Wedge and the Ramp for the past four years now and have been very happy with them. I refer to these products as “ergonomic sex aids” since I find the foam shapes to be absolutely perfect for making multiple sexual positions more comfortable and sustainable for my body during frequent or prolonged love-making sessions. Just like with yoga, most individuals can accomplish desired positions without aids, but the comfort level and confidence of the users rise dramatically with the extra support. For individuals that have physical injuries or limitations, I can only imagine that the usefulness of Liberator shapes moves beyond comfort and fun to necessity.
When the Scoop arrived, I was immediately surprised at its size. It is larger than the other two products I own, and I found myself feeling grateful for having extra space in my house for an adult romper-room for large toys such as this. (Virginia Wolf wanted a room of her own, but I’d add “grownup room” to that request.) In all seriousness, Liberator shapes are innocuous enough that they could easily be passed off as yoga or Pilates equipment, so having to hide them is not necessary for most people. In fact, many of the Liberator shapes can be placed around the house as throw pillows or creative seating without any of your guests knowing what the real intentions are behind the products.
Like most of the Liberator shapes, the Scoop can be enjoyed in multiple ways depending on an individual’s needs and abilities. The Liberator website hosts videos that highlight various methods for the use of each of their products in case your creative juices are a bit dry. (Even if they aren’t, it's still fun to watch the videos!) When using the Scoop with my partner, I found that lying down with my back on the flat part of the curved foam was best. Neither my partner nor I are very flexible (or coordinated for that matter), so there was no way we were both going to balance on this foam teeter-totter while fucking. Instead we found that the Scoop worked best for us when I was the one on the foam rocker and he was well balanced on the ground kneeling between my legs.
Although my partner and I are very kinky and diverse in our sexual play, his favorite position to achieve orgasm is on top of me. The Scoop was fun for both of us to use since I could be rocked back and forth on the curved form versus crunching my back and stomach muscles while my mid-section is folded up like a taco shell. Most straight men don’t realize this position can be very hard on a woman’s body. Gay men, on the other han,d understand that putting your legs behind your ears can make for one sore perv the next day. My only recommendation is that if your partner has a tendency to get car sick or sea sick, I would caution you to rock the Scoop slowly as nothing can kill the mood faster than a nauseous bottom.
But with the Scoop, it easy to keep on rockin'!
