One of the benefits of reviewing a toy months after it has been released is that I am able to read other testers' reviews and am fully aware of the reported benefits and possible downsides of the product before I even get to hold it in my kinky little hands. Reiterating or dispelling myths about a product can be just as exciting as being one of the groundbreaking masturbators reviewing new technology. Jimmyjane is a company whose presence and reputation project luxury and elitism. I was dying to know whether its products delivered on their advertising hype. Most recently, the Form 2 was the winner of a 2010 International Design Excellence Award (IDEA).
To start off, the gorgeous Jimmyjane packaging for this small product is a bit much, but then again, when isn’t a luxury product over wrapped for the sake of aesthetics? Although environmentalists might not love these types of marketing techniques, it is hard to rag on a company’s ethics when the rechargeable functions on its toy enables it to be used again and again without filling up landfills with the unnecessary disposal of batteries. Of course, this rechargeable function is actually only useful and truly environmentally sound if the vibrations created by the product are strong enough to satisfy the customer.
Ingeniously, the Form 2 has solved any possible issues with weak vibration sensations by putting two different motors in the palm-sized toy. Some people describe this toy’s shape as resembling a tooth or the top part of the iconic rabbit vibrator; personally I don’t really care what it looks like as long as it does the job it was designed for. The dual motors do just that. I have used TONS of small vibrating objects, (both battery & rechargeable designs) but none of them have I appreciated as much as this toy.
As I have said time and time again in my reviews, I am a Hitachi Wand fan through and through, but no matter how much I love that toy, it isn’t practical in every situation. Due to the Hitachi’s size, volume, and dependence on electrical outlets, it isn’t always useful. Personally I enjoy playing with erotic toys both in nature as well as in other discreet public locals. The Form 2 is now my new accomplice for such devious encounters since I don’t have to buy batteries, and it hums at a high enough intensity to get this vibration slut off. It also isn’t quite as powerful as the Hitachi (what is?), which is actually very good for some situations. Not all men enjoy the degree of vibration intensity that many women do, and since I like playing with a variety of genders, it is very important for me to have a broad collection of toys. This toy definitely passes my “gender-ambiguous test” since I loved having it placed on my clit while I was being penetrated, and my cis-male partner loved it when I reached around with my strap-on firmly planted in his ass and cupped it softly against his balls. Sometimes a toy’s vibration is just right, and just sometimes, the hype is well worth the price. Jimmyjane’s Form 2 is just one of those products.
